I want to be a cat. Not just any cat, I want to be the cat who lets us live with him. It is a big fat golden tabby with long whiskers and the most insolent green eyes you have ever seen.
Now, I am very fond of cats and this tom takes shameless advantage of my weakness. It meows pathetically as if I have not been feeding it for days and melts my heart with the variety of purrs and whines it can produce. The minute it has been fed, it cleans its whiskers, turns his back to me and goes off smartly.
His main job is to eat and sleep in the sunny backyard. His diversion is to chase the sparrows and the doves in our garden. His nocturnal hobby is to chase the pretty cats in his area. Occasionally he has a fight with some other aggressive tomcat . The next morning he appears at the backdoor with scratches on his nose and missing clumps of fur and a very triumphant expression where we are always ready with milk and sympathy.
Lucky cat, doesn't have to give exams.

On a more serious note, orals and practicals just around the corner, and I really need to really study. And need all the luck I can get!
Believers, pray for me.
Atheists, wish me luck.
Promise to post better after my pracs. Till then!

The Glass House is on the verge of ruin.
The panes are broken, the wind of discontent blows through the House. Trouble brewing, ma’am? You might say.
I am out of words, out of inspiration, never have I felt so low, dull and emaciated. I want to write, but the best I can come up with is four line posts.
I don’t want to abandon The Glass House, I am fond of it, it has helped me in too many ways. It would be ungrateful of me to shut it down. I like my visitors, they are good kind-hearted people, who bear up with me no matter what nonsense I come up with.
Should I wait out this lull? Or is it time for me to go? I swore to keep this blog for at least a year and I hate to break my word.
Decisions, decisions! I am so bad at this.

Lessons learned while my life chugs by at 40 kmph:
· If you think you are doomed, you are. · Its never too late to form attachments. · I don’t know anything about reality shows :-P…I really need to get cable TV. · Ignorance may be bliss, but knowledge is power. (don’t I sound like those literacy campaigns??). · If you are a forgetful person, its nice to have someone to remind you of things… · Attention feels good, so does unconditional love. · Alcohol is relaxing, porn and cigarettes even more so:-P · Being in touch with reality doesn’t always help, nor does it make life any less complicated. · Amen to that :- ).

I played Holi today! I am so proud! Me, I am a cat, I hate getting wet or dirty. But today, I actually left my cleanliness obsession behind and got colourful and wet and had an absolute blast!
The day started with noble intentions like I will start studying today and I will clean my room. Ah but the best laid plans of men, mice and Rhea oft go awry!
Around noon, my brother announced the presence of three colourful apparitions in the front porch. I went out to investigate and identified them as three of my friends.
“Hey guys! I had no idea we were playing Holi today…”
“We are!” they informed me.
The next moment I was drenched with green and pink and silver. We then proceeded to other peoples houses and drench them too!
Its been ages since I had so much fun.
By the end of the afternoon, I looked like something out of a nightmare. Thankfully, my folks did let me inside the house!
The colour has not yet faded from my face. Its got this pink and purple tinge. The effect is that of an exceptionally good-looking rhesus monkey. Nobody is ever going to hold my hand again, since now I have orange nails with purple and silver smears. And a plague on the silly bloke who put silver colour in my hair, I now have black and silver hair...something similar to Cruella De Vil…that colour does not fade even after washing twice!
All in all, a very happy Holi!
(Just noticed that after a long time, I have put a truly happy post…another little achievement)
